Hello, I’m Marybeth!
A Part of Our Story
However you stumbled across this page, I am glad you are here! If you are like me, you may have found yourself looking around lately at mainstream culture with a gnawing sense that your life (and the direction of your family) is called to be different – that’s because as Christians we ARE called to be different.
I grew up in what would have been considered a Christian home but our lives did not reflect intentional and core Christian values. Instead, there were many aspects of life that were the result of generations of brokenness. As a child, I yearned for things to look different than what I experienced.
In the last few years, we have been on a journey of starting our own family. We experienced the loss of our first child, Asher, in 2019 then welcomed our baby girl, Joanna, in 2020. In August of 2023, we were blessed to become a family of four with the birth of our second son, James.
In the growing of our family, God deposited a passion inside me to take back the idea and importance of home. I’ve come to learn that changing my family’s legacy will always begin with myself first. I don’t claim to be an expert in just about anything! I love learning from others and feel inspired when I hear stories of other families that have stepped beyond the norm and chose to do things differently. Instead of pretending we have all the answers or relying on society’s degradation of home, we forge ahead by leaning into God’s word and discovering what it has to say about every day, intentional living: the faith. the people. the home.
What You’ll Find
the faith.
The core of a family is its faith. This is a space to provide resources on how to cultivate a faith that, through God’s grace, lasts generations.
the people.
A family isn’t a family without its people! I love being a parent and a lot of our journey, tips, and ideas will be shared here!
the home.
No matter what the structure looks like, a home has the potential to shape and transform our lives. I’ll be sharing my favorite aspects of homemaking, everything from cooking to organizing and design.
A Little More..
I grew up in Florida near the beach and we moved to the mountains of Tennessee in 2023.
I have worked in both church ministry as well as a public school educator.
I love visiting new places: new restaurants, new parks, new stores, new cities – you name it!
I mainly cook homemade but I can also down a box of Kraft Mac N Cheese any day.
I love Hobby Lobby, Home Goods, and TJMaxx – who doesn’t?! I relied heavily on these stores in our recent move!
I have a few oddities that bring life to my soul: decluttering, organizing, and having a good system for everything.
I keep books all over the house to pick up and read or I will listen to podcasts while I go about my day!
